Happy New Year! Yes, and welcome to February. It has been a very exciting time at Lula Isandla. The new kitchen is an absolute hit, and in building it much of the Community Center recieved much needed attention.
The tourist board will be moving to the new building they've built at the entrance to Mpophomeni in the next 6 months or so. This will leave space open at the Community Center. We are looking to create a good learning environment in the empty space - a study area, or after care area depending on the children's ages.
We are also looking into raising awareness for Lula Isandla and similar initiatives. Bongikosi has begun a 'lets sweat for the poor' campaign. This will include the annual 5km fun run on the day before Comrades. As well as a run from Hilton to Mpophomeni, and other such activities. It will also be closely linked to the international campaign of 16 days of Activism.
There is a lot going on, and as always, we appreciate the support that everyone provides. The significance of your contributions can never be over stated.
Kind regards, Timothy
I'll be trying to get Claire a little more Facebook friendly. She goes through to LI every Wednesday amd always has news about what is going on.
